Unhappy Anjuta - is it possible to link a library?

I am new user of anjuta and need help in setting it up so it automatically access to a library i want to use in my programs.
the library is clanlib and i got it installed in /usr/local/include/clanlib-0.8/clanlib/ & in /usr/local/lib/

can anyone please give me idiot proof instructions for correctly setting up anjuta with this? I dont understand the 'group' and 'target' menus so im not sure how it can be done.
