animated GIF images for an interactive PDF document on Linux ?

Hello,

I would like to create and open nice PDF's on Linux.

Idealy I would like to add using pdflatex some animated GIF images for an interactive PDF document on Linux.

Would you know if it might be possible?

On Windows, yes: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro.html

Best regards
