An Mplayer question... Can you believe it?

Hi there linux fans! Woohoo, go linux, yyeaaahh!

Ok, well I've got a question, obviously. When I watch a movie, I would like to see how many minutes I am into it, and how many are left, and even sometimes, these numbers also presented as a percentage (of the overall film length). Is there a way to enable such a display in Mplayer (any version, gui or command line)?

Thanks

Should be able to use th On Screen display (punch 'o' a few times). It's a modal switch that cycles through off->on when something (like volume) is changes and just plain off.

Top number row on KB controls are in pairs;
1, 2 Bright
3,4 Contrast
...
9,0 Volume

Arrow keys are to advnance frames...

Experiment and then fill in the blanks.

mcleodnine.. huh? what's that got to do with anything??

no, there's no option, pressing o will change the level of outout on the osd, but the only info you can get is the elapsed time, and the progress bar when you move through the film.
