an't mount USB

Hello,
After changing my display manager I get this error when I try to load the USB memory with Spacefm.
The only file I modified was /etc/rc.d/rc.x but only to add the new DM.
I can't load the USB as user but I can as root.
It seems like as user Spacefm can't create the run folder for the USB.

Any clue?.

Thanks

I suggest you post the error message, and explain what exactly you do to "load the USB memory".

If you mean "mount", indeed - it can only be done by root (well, there are ways to permit normal users to mount a filesystem).

Agree with bernbausch, there's really not enough information here. The mount command requires sudo.

You do not say which distro you are using. Some will automatically mount the USB drive for the user when you plug it in. I use Fedora which does.
A lot of others do not and for those you will likely need sudo as has already been stated to mount it manually or some other method to autodetect the device and mount it for you. You also may need to change permissions for the user to be able to access it.

Automounting of plug-in devices is done by the file manager. You've changed your file manager, so it's not surprising that you have lost this facility. You need to read the SpaceFM manual to find out if it can do automounting at all and, if so, how to configure it.

If not, you need to add the device to /etc/fstab with the mount option "user", so that you can mount it by hand without being root.
