Amule -Compiling error - 'make'

Currently Runing Suse 9.2
and I've decided to compile Amule from scratch, and this is the story...
1- i needed gtk+- so i went to get it (the latest version) and installed from (and in that order):
1-glib-2.6.3.tar.gz
2-1.8.0.tar.gz
3-atk-1.9.0.tar.gz
4-gtk+-2.6.4.tar.gz
2-And went on to compile, wxGTK, wich reported gtk-lib missing, then i read in a forum(somewhere HERE) that only versions 1.2.x of gtk brought gtk-config script AND it wouldn't be a problem to have the two installations.
3- So i went back to gtk ftp server and downloaded+installed gtk 1.2.x (latest):
1-glib-1.2.10.tar.gz
2-gtk+-1.2.10.tar.gz
4-Afterwards I downloaded and installed the following according to the link "how to from scratch":
1-wxGTK-2.4.2.tar.gz
2-wxBase-2.4.2.tar.gz
3-crypto-5.2.1.tar.bz2
4- aMule.2.0.0rc8.tar.bz2
5-It still warned me that certain functions would be disabled because of wxBase 2.4.x
so went to get the latest 2.5.4 Tongue
6-I still lacked curl (from the amule configure output) so I went and downloaded curl.
7-Still when i ./configure it warned that it was lacking:
Quote:

configure:
WARNING: libpng-devel >= 1.2.0 is needed for amuleweb

checking for gdlib-config... /usr/bin/gdlib-config
checking for gdlib version >= 2.0.0... yes (version 2.0.2Cool
checking for gd.h... (cached) no
configure:
WARNING: gd-lib >= 2.0.0, or a functional gd.h (from gd-devel) not found.
gd-lib is needed for fully funtional cas. If you don't have gd-lib,
cas will be compiled, but you won't be able to create that cool
status image (text mode however will work).
so then again i went on and downloaded .
8- and now I still have the same problem has before (without download and installing glib):
1-configure output
2-make output

Yalla-One 03-04-2005 04:34 AM

I know this is not what you asked, but when I had similar problems, I went here and downloaded this:

ftp://ftp.pbone.net/mirror/ftp.gwdg....gbv.1.i586.rpm

Having said that, I then discovered mldonkey which connects to more networks and is more UN*X-type as it runs in the background continuously rather than just when one user is logged in.
I do not mean to start a war of which one is best, but simply want to share my experience...
