amsn on top?

hi all,

I have been using amsn for like the past 3 months. I am using RH 9.0 and presently using amsn 0.94 ( the latest version). I have used the earlier version too. The problem is that whenever i run amsn - it consumes huge resource.
It consumes like 70MB of RAM and 15% of the CPU...and not to mention stays on the top of "top"
It happened the same with the earlier version too. I have not used amsn with any other distro or version. I just wanted to know if it is the way it works or it is working abnormally in my case. But there is no problems with amsn itself ( i mean the working). Please let me know if there is a way to reduce the amount of resources it is consuming.

Thanks in advance,
SiLiCoN

hmm...have you tried other programs, say multi-IM-apps? Gaim can do msn too, and Kopete, so you're really not "forced" to use amsn (in my opinion Gaim and Kopete look better than amsn). so if the recources problem doesn't get solved (sorry, I can't help with it since I don't use the app..), try out some IM-apps that support MSN and see if they suit you better
