AMSN 0.83 try to log in but always says Wrong user name or password
 

Hi I recently installed AMSN 0.83 and when I try to log in it always says Wrong user name or password.

I have tried lots of times I even tried disabling SSL but the same... I know my password and user name are good because I tried logging into hotmail to make sure!

I thought maby it was somthing to do with a firewall that I recently installed but then from what I can read usually people only have problems RECIEVING files as its the other computer that is sending the request which is often blocked with secure firewalls.

Correct me if I am confused here!!

Any ideas?

Don't disable SSL, it's required for logon.
Try to turn the firewall off, and then take a go at it. See if it works. If that fails, try the newest AMSN CVS.
If all that fails, install GAIM, and see if the same happens. It likely will if it hasn't worked it, but it's worth a try. If all that fails, run game from the console, with debugging enabled: gaim -d
That will show you what happens when it tries to log you on. Note that I'm not sure if MSN pass = Hotmail pass anymore.
I have an MSN acct that doesn't have a hotmail account attached to it. I try to stay away from MS.

Hey sorry for taking so long to get back to you! I hate it when I write things and people dont reply!

I have kind of gone the non-microsoft way for now and have installed yahoo messenger... don´t seem to have any problems with it... although somthimes its a pain because some of my mates only us msn messenger (lazy bastards)
