AMC 3G/HSDPA Device needing KPPP package

Hi there. I am Trying to setup ADvinne's AMC HSDPA Usb Modem on EEE PC 701CW with Xandros. Got AMC.rules into the right subfolder in root. but was still not picked-up in the setup wizard
under GSM/3G/HSDPA hardware.

ADvinne advice that I use KPPP dialer . Not found in my version of Xandros ( where do I look for the version on the Xandros Easy mode?)

Downloaded a source code form Tuwson site. ( Using my Toshiba Laptop with a Nokia 6110 as Modem- slow speed 921.00 kb connecting speed).

Anywhere I can download a KPPP or similar type of package that I don't have to compile first to install on the EEE PC.

Any other relevant help will help.

No luck installing it.

Ignore the advice to use KPPP - that's just ridiculous.

What you do need to do is make sure that the driver is loading correctly and the device is available. You can check for messages in 'dmesg' (dmesg|less) and you can also look for ttyUSB* somewhere in /dev (either /dev or /dev/USB).

Once you have established that the device driver is loaded and working, the next bit is to configure pppd - Xandros users will be able to give you better information on how to do that for Xandros.

For more information on configuring pppd, see:
