Hi, I tried to update with guru and it came out with loads of system inconsistancies, things like it requres libpg.so.4()(64bit) and libmysqlclient.so.14()(64bit).

Are these serious, they've come up once or twice before too.

Well, usually that is a yast issue, not a specific repository issue. It it is one of the things I hate most about SuSE 10 that is supposed to be mostly taken care of thanks to new enhancements with apt and smart being built right into a rebuilt YAST in 10.1. I thought it was a little better in Beta 3, but I have been avoiding the betas since then as they have been heavily broken with massive dev changes in every beta since. Maybe an RC a few weeks off will yield better results, and I am sure the final of 10.1 will. After releasing 10.0 too early, I am glad they aren't doing the same with 10.1.

In the mean time, you could try compiling yourself to avoid such errors, but you may have true dependency issues you dont' know about that way, and searching error logs and going one at a time for dependencies hand compiling can be a real pain in the ass.

I solved this problem by having more than one source active at a time!!!
