Amarok no longer retrieves lyrics

every single song that i listen to in amarok, it can't find the lyrics. I click the button to open it in a window and it finds them just fine. i liked the integration of lyrics and music in one program. Is this a bug with the newer version or is it just a user error?

I have this same problem. I'm listening to a very popular song right now (Eminem - Lose Yourself), but the lyrics don't appear. I think something must have happened with the database at lyrc.com.ar, because that database is puny. Do a search on some random songs. Most won't appear.

the majority of mine show up on the website, but amarok doesn't show them kinda defeats the purpose of having that feature.
if i could edit what site it pulls the lyrics from, that wouldn't be so bad either. i can find probably 90% of all my songs on one website.

seems as if they are working on it. they said if you want it fixed right away to use version 1.4

According to this bug report the bug is resolved in version 1.3.8. However, the most recent version of amarok avaiable in any of the official Ubuntu repositories (I run Kubuntu) is 1.3.7. Could anybody perhaps point me towards a repository with an up-to-date version of amarok until the Ubuntu repositories get updated? Failing that, a deb of the newer version would do temporarily.

OK, according to the AmaroK home page 1.3.7 is actually the latest version. I suppose the poster meant it would be fixed in 1.3.8. It does seem, however, that there was an update of 1.3.7 to 1.3.7-1 in which the problem was fixed. It shows it here at the debian package search... but their search/downloads are currently down due to "performance issues." I am unable to find another mirror for the .deb using Google.

So basically I'm back to my original question about finding an up-to-date repository or a .deb file, except I'm looking for 1.3.7-1 instead of 1.3.8.

I found an RPM here, what are the chances of me foobaring something if I use alien to convert this to a deb and update that way?
