amaroK Installation Source Fedora

Hello, as you can tell from the header I am installed amaroK from source. I have all the dependencies etc. but when I am compling to references to the /usr/lib/include taglib and presents me with this information:

app.cpp: In member function ‘virtual TagLib::String ID3v1StringHandler::parse(const TagLib::ByteVector&) const’:
app.cpp:462: error: return type ‘struct TagLib::String’ is incomplete
app.cpp:463: error: ‘QStringToTString’ was not declared in this scope
app.cpp: In member function ‘virtual TagLib::ByteVector ID3v1StringHandler::render(const TagLib::String&) const’:
app.cpp:468: error: ‘TStringToQString’ was not declared in this scope
make[4]: *** [app.o] Error 1

I have search google to death and haunted the amaroK forum with no luck. Any thoughts?

hi
well not many come here after searching in google or linux specific google
( http://google.com/linux) so you must be applauded.
Next , clearly you have mismatch with the QT version with the version that is in your computer. The better sollution could be to download the binary package for your distribution from here
http://amarok.kde.org/amarokwiki/index.php/Download
But if you are not seeking for this - you do want to use the compiled package - you may choose to comment the lines mentioned and hope that it works.

I will give that a try, the binary package that is available on the repositories are flawed I find. MusicBrainz does not work it just is a crippled application as far as I am concerned. I am going to edit the files to attempt to avoid that error. I will keep you posted. Thanks for your help.

How's it flawed? You are talking about the amarok that is from Fedora?

well when you are talking about flawed binary packages - could you be more specific
that is what is the error message that you are getting?
