Amarok Installation problem!

i am on a gentoo machine (kernel version 2.6.9-r3)...when i try to emerge amarok it is not built and only docs etc are installed not the binary.
It gives this message in between the output :

Code:
==================================
  === AMAROK WILL NOT BE BUILT ================================================
  ==================================
  =
  = No suitable multimedia framework was detected. You need to install at least
  = one of the supported frameworks as detailed in the amaroK README.
  = If you are thinking, 'I have aRts you stupid configure!', then you probably
  = need to install kdemultimedia-devel.
  =
  ==========================
  ===  amaroK - PLUGINS  ========================================================

  ==========================
  =
  = The following plugins will be built:
  =   + XMMS Visualization Wrapper
  =   + LibVisual Plugin
  =
  ===============================================================================
what could be the problem ? ..i have kde-multimedia installed ...kde version is kde-3.3.2 ..i put use flags for arts also..and arts is installed....any help will be appreciated!

As the error says, you need "kde multimedia DEVEL" i.e. the development package of "kde-multimedia" to be installed as well. Gentoo is in the habit to recompile from source code, and in that case, it needs to have the header files and other goodies from the DEVEL package

Use flags are only for gentoo.

for fedora core you can do this

download these packages:

http://www.silfreed.net/download/rep...1.fc2.i386.rpm

http://www.silfreed.net/download/rep...1.fc2.i386.rpm

then open up a terminal, and cd into the directory you saved them

cd /home/username/folderwheretherpmsare

then type in su and then type in your root password

then type in rpm -Uvh *.rpm
