Amarok icon not displaying in system tray

Currently running Mandriva 2009 in Gnome and when I launch Amarok (1.98) it loads perfectly fine, and the application runs without any apparent issues, but the little blue wolf that I love so much isn't showing in the system tray. To clarify, there is a space where the icon should be, and if you click on it you get the options that usually are available, it's simply that the icon is not there.

I have checked the settings in Amarok and it is listed as "Show Tray Icon" - I have tried turning this option on/off, but no change in status. I have searched a bit, but as yet have not found anything that could help. As a note, I am able to run other KDE apps such as K3B without this issue occurring.

As everything is running fine, this is merely an aesthetic issue, but I really like to see that little wolf in the corner. Any advice would be great.

The only thing that comes to mind is : "try updating to 2.0 final." Or try running Amarok from console and search the output for any kind of error.
