Amarok: Cover Fetch Problem
Hi there!
Last week I updated my music collection and I could fetch covers from amazon with no problem. This week somehow it does not seem to work. Does anyone know if this is just a temporary problem, or a problem with amarok or even amazon?
I read a while that Amazon was switching to requiring some form of authentication to do cover searches, which would break automatic cover retrieval. Maybe it just happened?
Honestly, might be for the best. I have a lot of really incorrect album covers(all my DDR is Purple Rain, and it won't unset) because amarok errs on the side of something-better-than-nothing. Forcing me to set my own means fewer wrong ones.
Also: long live 1.4! 2 has a long, long way to go before it's a replacement.
Makes sense... Does anyone know a way to work around amazon or a plugin that uses another site?
It looks as if there is a user compiled patch, but I am not sure how to use it. I've used to patch command with the .diff file, but I'm getting dir errors.
If anyone knows how to apply this patch, it might solve the probs. Btw, it re-writes some of the code to integrate with last.fm instead of amazon.
