amarok & creative zen

Hi guys,

I'm running kubuntu which comes with amarok pre-installed. But I'm trying to get my creative zen vison:m synced with it. I've got gnomad2 up and running but it would be nice to have it all working within amarok.

I've read if I install amarok with developer plugins added I'll get an MPT option but I've no idea how to do this. When I go to uninstall amarok, it says it will also remove kubuntu-desktop which I dont wanna do.

So I need some help here, cheers

I don't have a Creative player myself, but I've heard that you need the libmtp2 package installed. I'd give that a shot.

That is correct. (You need to install libmtp.)
Also, look up MTP in Wikipedia. They have a udev config file to add in /etc/udev/rules.d/. Copy the contents to an editor and save the file.

When configuring the player, select the last item in the list "MTP Player". Then after connecting to your unit in Amarok, press the small triangle on the right, to read the capabilities of the Zen player.
