Am I using SuperKaramba right?
Hi,
I set up slackware 10 and installed superkaramba and liquid weather. The way I'm starting it, is going to the console and typing superkaramba, and then loading the theme. But I have to keep the console window open, or else the theme closes. So, I just move the console to another virtual desktop. Is that the way it's supposed to be done? Thanks, Bohh A+ CCNA |
include an '&' to detach from the terminal. 'filename &'

Hmm. I tried what you just said. I load up the konsole and type "superkaramba &" It loads up and everything, but when I close the konsole, my themes close.
Did you mean typing the & else where? |
yeah me to, should have thought it threw before posting. that give you your prompt back but still is the controling terminal.

I found an icon for the SuperKaramba program in my utilities menu after snooping around some. That lets you open stuff up and you don't need to keep anything open then.
Thanks though! |
for future reference you could do 'nohup superkaramba' sorry, my brain wasn't in gear.

In KDE you can just open a run dialog via Alt+F2 and type in superkaramba. That way no console is needed. Of course if there is a menu entry for you, you can use that instead. Some distros fubar the menus when they customize KDE so it doesn't always appear.
