I follow the introduction like the web page, want to set up gmail for Evolution.

http://tuxicity.wordpress.com/2007/0...and-organizer/

But When I try to send or receive a mail,it always failed.Check the debug logs, showing:
Could not connect to pop server
Could not connect to smtp server

Could anyone know what I should check ,in this machine I can connect internet no problem.

What happens when you try to send or receive? Does it give you an error message, or just time out? Did you enable POP access in your gmail account?

Copy your exact settings from Evolution here.. without seeing what you entered it's impossible for us to figure out what is wrong.

Username: mine...@gmail.com
Security > Drop-down menu > select SSL connection
Authenthication Type: password
Flag remember password

Sending email Tab:
Server: smtp.gmail.com
Flag: server requires authentication
Use Secure Connection: SSL
Fill in Username: mine...@ gmail.com

What port numbers are you using? You should have one for outgoing, and one for incoming.
