altgr not recognized by VNC


I use Xvnc server on my fedora 9 desktop.
Until today everything worked perfect, but now I cannot send any altgr combinations (like @, [, ]) anymore.

Also this is only with the user 'root'. If I login via VNC with another username, I can send those chars.

Anyone any idea?
