Alternative to sendmail. Ive been haggling for too long so i need something else

I did a straight up redhat 7.1 install. Made the necessary changes to daemon options, etc. I cannot receive and send mail. netstat -natp show senmail on port 25 and looks good.

Im sick of this crap. Nothing but problems and I have no idea why. Does anyone have any GOOD alternatives to sendmail.

Thanks for your time

I've heard qmail is an excellent alternative with better security than Sendmail and less of a steep learning curve.
