Alternate Gnutella clients to Limewire

I have been trying to install Limewire from Shell also found an RPM Source for Limewire,

With several unsuccesful attempts to get Limewire launched past the spash screen,
see below for my other ost on this problem.

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-stuck-713907/

I am looking for a good Gnutella alternate prefeerably a non Java Platform as it seems al my problems with Limewire
& Google Earth are java related.

I went to XFdrake downoaded Google earth installer, and it seemed to launch then after spash screen it closed down!!!

don't run it from a menu then open a terminal run it and if it fails there you'll probably have some nice useful error messages to help you.

*** ANCIENT VERSION DETECTED! ***

Sorry, this program is too ancient to run without
an explicit user action: If it's not possible to upgrade
you may edit the file

/home/addiegoodvibes/.gtk-gnutella/config_gnet

and set the variable "ancient_version_force" to
"gtk-gnutella/0.96.3-12293 (2006-11-09; GTK2; Linux i686)".

You will then be able to run this version forever, but
please consider upgrading, as Gnutella is an evolving
network in which ancient software is less useful or even
harmful!

I already did what it said & edited the config file to
Quote:
ancient_version_force = gtk-gnutella/0.96.3-12293 (2006-11-09; GTK2; Linux i686)
then ran KTG-GNutella and got the same error

there is no current rpm version even through PFL....

why not get the non-ancient version? last release was from april last year.
