Alsa question

I have 2 soundcards: an creative soundblaster live! 24 bit and an onboard soundcard - nforce 2. I have alsa working but i want to use my 2 sound cards as one. What should I write in the .asoundrc file to make this work? Also I would like to know how to change the bass and treble controlls, beacuse the bass is too strong on both cards and I can't find the sliders wich control this in alsamixer.

Thank u!

When you say you "want to use [your] 2 soundcards as one", what exactly do you mean by that? You want both soundcards to process the same stream together, in a similar way to how dual processors work? If so, I think you'll be disappointed to find that there's not much support for your idea... besides, I'm not sure how much extra oomph onboard sound would add to a standalone Creative soundcard.

I found a page about using two sound cards at once under Linux, but note that (i)it's about using the two cards separately; and (ii)"Searches via Google did not turn up much information on dual sound cards, just the usual "HOW TO" references on getting one sound card running." However, it does mention that many programs won't like it and that artsd, especially, doesn't play nicely.

I want to play the same stream on both cards in the same time so i could use a lot more outputs :), but if this can't be done at least i want to know how can I configure bass and treble on my creative soundcard in linux.
