alsa installation problems

I have found people in different forums with the same problem but noone still came up with a solution...

Do you think this can be related with the redhat release?

I think I have a solution!!

I read somewhere that after "cleaning up" the kernel, I should enable the sound card support option and the ali5451 option. After this I only needed to do modprobe trident

And it worked!!! The only thing is that this module is not beeing loaded at startup. Can you just tell me hoe to do it?

Hello again!

I still couldn't find how to load the module at startup...

Do I have to login as root each time I reboot and type "modprobe trident"?

Or is there a way of not doing this all the time?

I would really thankful for some information here, even for future installations of other modules.
