Alsa +full duplex voice chat

I have a similar post in the games subforum, but there doesn't seem to be too much traffic there so I decided to post it here too. Mods, feel free to delete the other post (or this one, if I'm breaking a rule, but I think I'm ok)

At any rate, I'm trying to get voice chat capabilities with cedega and counter strike, but I get an error about not being able to load wav input, and then it scrolls by too fast for me to read. I can hear voice chat fine, just can't send. I'm using ALSA that came with kernel 2.6.8.1 with a Sound Blaster Live! on Slackware 10.
