ALSA c code for capturing and playing back left and right channels or inverting them.

Hello,

I am using an audio codec shield with intel edison. It appears as an ALSA device.I need example c code to extract left and right channels and replay them back inverted or as it is but independently .I intend to process the left and right channel data. Please tell me how to.

I have seen some sample code for capture and playback online. They are just 1-2 pages long.I was expecting something simpler.I want to use the code in yocto linux on intel edison. So is there something simpler to just get data pointers to left and right channel audio data?

So I installed jackaudio as you suggested. Now I connected a USB sound card, how shall I loop mic data to its speaker output using jack?
