ALSA always defaults to mute

Hey

After finally getting ALSA installed, I now have to deal with it muting all channels at every restart. Is there a way to preserve the settings so that running amixer/alsamixer every time is not necessary?

I am using 2.6.0-test4-mm with ALSA and Ensoniq ES1371 driver with OSS support all compiled directly into the kernel. This seems to mean that there are no ALSA config files in /etc/modules.d, but I might be wrong..

Thanks/ strophy

you must configure your alsa with alsamixer in root
when it's done you must do in a shell : alsactl store
then alsa will save your config and your must put
"alsactl restore" in your /etc/rc.local
