Akonadi--do i still have a local calendar?

Using kontact, made the plunge to akonadi so that i can sync with google calendar. a couple of bugs, but i'm pleased overall. however, i'm not quite sure if i still have a local calendar file. certainly, it doesn't seem like it uses the old .ics files. looks like it's in an sql database somewhere? if so, where is it, and how would (a non-programmer) go about examining it's contents outside of kontact?
