AIM95 in Wine

I have a friend who would like to fileshare with me through AIM, however GAIM does not allow for the 'get file' function. So I installed the linux version of AIM frm aim.com, it doesnt either...
So I have run AIM version 4.82790 under wine, and it works, with the exception of the 'get file' feature.
When I click on it, it opens the file transfer window, but closes it complaining of netork problems and firewalls.
I am on a university network with a linksys router, her pc is Windows XP and shares files fine with other windows pcs.

Has anyone managed to get the new versions of windows AIM to work on Wine? And if so, how?

well i am going out on a limb here, but my guess is that it has nothing to do with WINE, rather it is the fact that you are trying to connect to her from inside a university firewall...

Yeah... I'd be forced to agree with that, in case you wanted a second opinion.

I should have been more clear, she is also behind the network.
I have tried the trial version of crossover office with no avail,
it (AIM) installs and runs perfectly but still doesn't allow me to share.
It works between her pc and other windows users.

well then i am thinking that you might just be out of luck, i know that with the aim version for linux, you can 'direct connect' with each other....but the getfile function does not exist, it would be sweet if gaim had that
