Hi Members,

I have been trying to install AIM through Synaptics... And then i got the error that some library files are missing. I again installed those dep files... But still the same message is coming again and again.

Is there anyone who can tell me why its happening.

Well I am trying it on latest uBuntu v8.04... can anyone help me regarding this matter ..

Check the versions of the library files you installed. Also try running "sudo /sbin/ldconfig" to update your library paths just in case you are missing one. If you have a version of AIM that uses older libraries than you are using, sometimes you can get a program going by creating a symbolic link of the name the program expects to a more recent library version.

I did this on SuSE to get kdar and audacity working.

I'd recommend Pidgin. The AIM software is nothing but an outdated joke. Pidgin can do AIM and more.
