aim: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libgdk-1.2.so.0: undefined symbol

i was having trouble sending files with people in the latest version of Aim so i tried installing the older version to see if i had teh same problem, i typed rpm -Uv --oldpackage "oldaimpackagename". Then when i tried to run aim i got teh following message:
aim: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libgdk-1.2.so.0: undefined symbol: XListInputDevices
does anyone know what this means?

i think that meant the version of aim was compiled against an older version of gtk+
you could try compiling the older version of aim yourself and see if it will compile on your system
