Age old dual boot question
I know there are posts on this but it's hard to find the right one.
I have mandrake installed on secondary master. (HDC) which I can't switch to primary because then I can't boot anymore (Kernel init not found) I want to install windows xp on the secondary slave part of that cable. How do I do this without interrupting my MBR? I want to put the windows loader into grub myself and call for hdd1 (I think) Here's what I want to do: I install windows with the master disconnected it won't touch my original MBR and then I reconnect the linux harddrive after and all is good. Linux boots up as normal again. (makes sense to me) Will this work? |
Check out the "map-drive" function in 'man lilo.conf'.
You can put your drives where you want. I once used the map-drive function to move Windows installed on primary master to primary slave. Worked fine. Good Luck. |
