after installing with yast, Then what?

I have just installed, with Yast, KDE 3.3, but I do not know how to update the actual desktop..how do you make the new version of KDE run? Also, how do you get programs to have icons in the desktop??

Thanks for any help....

KDE 3.2.1 was installed in /opt/kde3. You might want to query the rpm files to find out where the KDE 3.3 files are. Or run updatedb as root so that the new files show up when using the locate command, and type something like 'locate kmail'. The other ones should be in the same directory. If it is a directory that's not in your path, you will need to add it to your path variable.

hmmm

ok, I will try that, I guess I did not realise how much i would be using the command line in Linux, in my ignorance I thought that these programs would update themselves once installed with Yast...oh well, I am enjoying the challange, and I almost have a functioning set up...
