You do not necessarily need 'internet configuration wizard'. Try this command $kppp
You'll be asked for the root previlige. Doing the necessary settings, and perform the "modem query". If you got the message "modem is ready", then you can dial it.
If it does not go through, try to search for the "kppp configure" on google, or, I can send you one if necessary.
