Advice please on a database app

We have a WhiteBox Linux server running eGgroupware, Apache 2 and MySQL.

I would like to 'knock up' some simple relational databases (mainly for IT kit inventory control across 28 sites) and would like to be able to view/edit/input via a Web browser from whatever site I'm currently visiting.

I have had a look at several products (including Firebird and Berkeley Database) and had a run through Sourceforge but I'm none the wiser!

Can anyone point me at a simple database development tool that would do the job?

Thanks

NK

I think Forebird will do a great good job.

As for the development, you will likely haver to use PHP, unless you're into Delphi or C++ Builder.
To design and test database structures, tables etc I recomment IBExpert. Personal edition can be downloaded for free from http://www.ibexpert.com. There are some limitations with the free version (database sizes etc) but at least you can see if you like the tool before you buy the full version which is around $200 for one license.

If you decide to go for Firebird you may want to go to Firebird mailing lists if you need some more help. The groups is pretty good and responsive. Look for them at http://ibphoenix.com

Good luck.

I'm not _exactly_ sure I understand what you want, but would phpMyAdmin [www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/] do the trick?
