Advice please
I'm about to purchase a cheap base system to muck about with for Linux. Will be trying Red Hat, SuSE and possibly LFS later on.
Does anyone know if there are drivers for this video card that comes with the system I'm about to purchase? Voodoo 3 2000 AGP Thanks |
They have pretty good support for the voodoo cards. The Voodoo 3 card has been supported for a while.
If you want to check it out go to: http://xfree86.org/4.1.0/Status.html And check under the 3Dfx section. |
i have no problems with that card in one of my machines working great. detected during install with ease.

RH 6.* and 7.* have been good with my voodoo banshee and voodoo3 2000

Not only is it supported, but its one of the six or seven cards that is supported under DRI too, so X can take advantage of the hardware acceleration.
RH probably has all of that goop compiled in as modules, so everything cool about the card should be recognized by RedHat without tweaking. -Cheers, Finegan |
