adobe svg reader

Can anyone access this site:

http://maps.edmonton.ca/

It uses the adobe svg reader which is installed from http://www.adobe.com/svg/viewer/install/main.html

I have installed the plugin and it is recognized however all get is gibberish instead of a map.

I am using konqueror on Debian sid system.

On my other system (upgraded Kanotix system) all I get is a blank screen.

Works OK on windows though.

Thanks

That download is an old beta release compiled for an old version of RedHat. I may be wrong but I don't think it would be likely to work with Sid and since Adobe is ending support for that reader in 2 years it is unlikely you will see a new version for Linux. Also, I believe that RedHat used Gnome by default and that could also bring about compatibility issues with KDE. Sorry for the bad news. Good news though, you may be able to get this working with Firefox. Try this LINK. Let us know if you get it working.

Cannot get firefox (iceweasel) to run on my system (see http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...92#post2536392)

Swiftfox loads the plugin but reports a parsing error when trying to open the site.

Iceape doesn't find the plugin. Iceape (why don't they just call things what they are...this is Mozilla 5.0) hasn't yet found the plugin even though it is present in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins.

Still working on it....anybody out there with a functioning copy of firefox?
Support for svg is supposed to be built in to firefox.
Can you access the site?
Or the Adobe test site www.adobe.com/svg/viewer/install/svgtest.html

Thanks

Just got iceweasel working....same as swiftfox; gives a parsing error instead of a map.

Also got Iceape to find the plugin...same parsing error.
