I have two systems, one running Linux and one running WindowsXP. I have Firefox configured exactly the same in both but on my Linux box there are adds on pages where there are no adds on my Windows system. Any idea why this would be?
Don't know if it helps but my homepage is www.cbc.ca/news and on Windows there is no adds, on Linux there is.
Hate to say it, but that makes no sense. A clean install of Firefox on any OS will be similar, especially in regards to ad displaying. Maybe you have Ad-block or the like on your Windows side, because software doesn't just "magically" act completely differently like that.
I never installed Ad-Block, is that a free app? I do have Norton Internet Security and Anti-Virus and perhaps something native to Windows XP is blocking the adds... I'll have to find something to do that for me on linux. Any suggestions?
