addressing more than 2GB swap in Linu

Hi folks,

I have a large volume of CT data to process, in fact very large data, and I would like to use some code that I developed for smaller volumes, using a huge amount of swap space that I have on my Linux machine (something like 20Gb). This was done by adding several swap partitions of 2Gb in /etc/fstab. Although the full memory appears when typing "top", in practice, I don't seem to be able to address more than 2 Gb with my program. I have Slackware 8.0, which has been patched with RTAI (for haptics) and recompiled with Linux 2.4.19-SMP.

Can anyone suggest a way of configuring my machine in a manner that allows me to access the swap memory above 2Gb?

Best regards,

JME
