adding .wav sound to mozilla

Is .wav a sound that is specific to windows? I had a bunch of sounds saved on cd from when I was using windows, .wav files. I wanted to use popupblocker.wav(old sound from my aol popupblocker). When I add that to mozilla it seems to ignore it. Is this format compatible? What formats am I supposed to use with mozilla?

Well, Im not sure what formats Mozilla supports.

Try converting them to OGG, everyone supports OGG.

But WAV files are not MS specific, its just a lossless conversion format.
