Adding to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH

I'm using Redhat 9.0 and trying to figure out how I can add items to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Is this a file somewhere? My problem is that when I try to display a cgi status map in Nagios the page comes up with this error:

Server error!
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request.
Error message:
Premature end of script headers: statusmap.cgi
If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster
Error 500

Any help would be great. =)

Mike

Add the directory to the end of /etc/ld.so.conf and run ldconfig as root...
