adding scrap mode to lyx

hi,
i installed lyx using ubuntu's synaptic package manager. However, the scrap mode was not installed by default. Also the options of 'export to scilab" and 'export to c" do not work.
I must add that i installed scilab through the binary ,because ubuntu's debian package did'nt work at all.
I need the above because i have to do literate programming using lyx as part of a lab project.I'll be grateful if anyone could help.
Thanks!
