Adding module back into kernel

Ok after many hours i give up and cry "Uncle". I am trying to get i8k to load during boot. I have added it back into the kernel as a module, or i think i did. This was my procedure so far.

Since i8k is a Dell specific module, i guess it is under processor section in the kernel right ?

Procedure as i ran it.

make xconfig
make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install
make install

Ok then i figured it would come up when i boot ? Well it does not, i seem to remember running modprobe i8k during boot once but after many compiles now it says the module no longer exist ? So what do i do to get i8k back as a module and what procedure to get it to load during boot ?
