Unhappy Adding links to the menus in RedHat/Fedora

Hi

I finaly figured out that all these programs I have spent months downloading can be conveniently added to the various file menus for quick and easy access. Great!. The only problem is that when I right-click on the menu I wish to add a new program to (ie; "games">(right click again)>"entire menu">"add new item to this menu" and then "create launcher" dialogue box appears (and I fill it out and click ok), I get an error saying...

"Cannot save menu item to disk

Details: Error writing file 'applications:/Games/erwr.desktop': Unsupported operation"

Am I missing something here?. I've also tried this from root and still no luck.

Thank's in advance for your help people

Edit Menus Under Redhat

#Annoying, isn't it...

#Do this as root:

#!/bin/sh
# drop into the gnome modules directory
cd /etc/gnome-vfs-2.0/modules'
# back up the old modules-conf
cp default-modules.conf default-modules.conf.no-menu-editing
# copy over the old modules.conf with the menu editing-enabled version
cp default-modules.conf.with-menu-editing default-modules.conf

###########################################
## and Voila. Now, to for each individual user editing menus:
#
#cd /home/<user>/.gnome2/vfolders
# -or-
cd ~/.gnome2/vfolders
cp /etc/X11/desktop-menus/applications.menu applications.vfolder-info
