Question Adding items to the GNOME Applications Menu

Hi, as a fairly new linux user, I have finally got Slackware 9.1 and GNOME 2.4 Running just how I like it (a few problems but nothing major) and I was wondering how I can add items to the GNOME Applications Menu?

I have the KDE libs installed for Kstars and koffice (purely because I had them on CD rather than trying for OpenOffice.org etc) and they work fine, but I would simply like to add them to the menu for easier access???

Thanks in advance,

Could anyone explain this a little clearer please? I found where it says "Entire menu" but that will only let me add an item, not a folder containing items?
