Adding driver to linux kernel? How do i do this.

I've got a little problem.
I'm using mandrake linux 10.0 so i can't just use any kernel i like. It must be one form Mandrake.
When i use the 2.6.3 kernel
SENSORS works but it has no support for the ATI USB REMOTE WONDER
When i use the 2.6.7 or 2.6.8 kernel (development)
SENSORS doesn't work but it has support for the ATI USB REMOTE WONDER
I know where the driver source in the 2.6.7 kernel and i have even edited it because the ati_remote driver had some problems in combination with a AZERTY keyboard layout.

Now how can i add this driver to the 2.6.3 kernel.
Or does anyone know how i can make the sensors drivers in the 2.6.7 and 2.6.8 kernel work.
