adding dir to foobar2000 lib snap (configuring files under WINE)
 

Hi, I can't figure this out and I guess I'm bad with internet searches... can't find any info on how to add a path to a snap. seems like what the snap sees is all emulated, but is it possible to place a shortcut in that sim dir? I tried to create one in the open file dialog box but didn't work. Also it doesn't see any contents of the Debian primary drive folders (sees the folders but not the contents).

Foobar2000 is a audio player and I just want to add a dir to its library so It can add the files to playlists.

Sorry I have no direct answer, but: you really do not need foobar2000/Wine on Linux.
Linux is full of good audio players.
Some say that deadbeef is equally good, powerful, customizable as foobar2000.

If I understand the problem "DOS drives" are basically symbolic links to an existing directory and the links are configured in your ~/.wine/dosdevices directory.

that's what i'm after! however there is no hidden dir called wine in my home dir. I tried calling wine or winecfg from root to no avail... i installed fubar through snaps, and wine was automatically added (not sure if that makes any diff)

just tried it and not sure if its because it comes completely bare out of the box but it lacks the very basics. but mainly what i'm after is 'view files by folder structure' in the playlist window. something that comes with foobar and to my knowledge only inn foobar. tried briefly searching for this feature in deadbeef and could not find any relevant results.

I don't use wine. You might need to manually create the directory.

I'm not sure about "in the playlist window", but ALL media players I have used on Linux have that feature.
Even if you don't like deadbeef, fact remains: you are making things needlessly hard on yourself when there's plenty of good native solutions.
