where is a site to download "scanModem"?
 

I can't find a site to download "scanModem" so that I can try to get my modem recognized/to work.

Maybe some has the answer..to "installing" a SmartLink 56k voice modem, ver 4.00.01.sloz...model number(?) sl2800 pci

you mistyped it. please don't include the quotes.

I'm getting there just fine. Make sure you delete the leading and trailing quotes when copy&pasting the link. Better yet, I'll make it easier for you and repost so it's a linky:

(Note: I cannot vouch for the posted archive, scan and review for trojans, YMMV, batteries not included, etc. etc.)

nothing to worry about. it's just a shell script. you can review the script after you download it.
