Unhappy Adaptec GoBack and RH 8.0 startup


I have a dual-boot system with Windows ME and RH 8.0. The problem is I have to disable Adaptec GoBack in order to boot linux. When I enable GoBack and try to boot into linux grub gives me error 28 i think : item is too large to fit into memory. Can anyone help me with the problem? Here are my specs:
60 GB Hard Drive - 30 Gigs Windows - 30 Linux
384 Megs of ram
