acpi sleep reboots computer...

Hey,
I'm using Debian Sid with a 2.6.9 kernel on a IBM T40. Acpi used to work very well but now I cannot put my computer to sleep mode anymore. I mean when I write :

echo "3" >| /proc/acpi/sleep

it puts the computer to sleep, but when I turn it back on, it waits displaying nothing for about 10 seconds and then reboots...

Has anyone an idea of what it could be ? Thanks !
