ack! dvd play in Xine, plug-installed
 

Using MDK 9.1-KDE 3.1.0:
well, i installed the DVD plugin for xine, and when it looks like its about to play the DVD(it shows the name of the dvd loaded, and it goes 00:00:00), it doesnt start. it gets all loaded up, but just wont play. if anybody could help, it would be much appreciated. -taged --->:newbie:

Do you have libcss installed? You need that to play all commercial DVDs. But be warned, its illegal to use.

Try plf for plugins, apps etc for Mandrake

The d5d plugin works well for Xine, from memory you will also need libdecss-2
Setting plf as a source in urpmi will help with any dependancies, the instructions are on the site.
