Acidrip sound delay for mpg files

Hi Folks,

I've recently discovered the excellent Acidrip for backing up DVDs. I have no problems backing them up to .avi files, and then playing those files on my laptop (running Ubuntu Breezy). The only thing is, I'd like to be able to back them up to VCDs so I can play them on a regular DVD player, which I think means they need to be mpg-1 format. When I try to do this, the movie is ripped fine, but I get an error message on playback saying:

Too many audio packets in the buffer: (4096 in 8273920 bytes)

It plays fine visually, but there's a delay with the audio soundtrack. Can anyone help out?

Thanks, Tom

I had a lip sync delay recently playing back lvac mpeg4 files (ripped with Acidrip) in mplayer. Googling sugggested correctly that the problem was with the selected audio driver in mplayer.

=> Try changing your driver in Mplayer settings. I changed mine from alsa to oss (which on my system means oss-emulation in alsa anyway).

This isn't an mplayer specific issue. It does the same in VLC, xine, etc.
